Obsidian have announced the new launch date of the Outer Worlds port for the Nintendo Switch, after the March date didn’t come through due to COVID-19. The game is going to come out on June 5th, 2020, so there’s some kind of light at the end of the tunnel. Just keep in mind that the physical retail version is also going to have a day one patch of 6 GB, so be sure to plan accordingly.

Outer Worlds Nintendo Switch Port to Launch on June 5th

As we covered in one of our previous articles, the Switch port of The Outer Worlds took a bit of a hit when this whole mess with the coronavirus began. Originally, the developers had hoped to have it out by March 6th, but, well, that wasn’t gonna happen. So, they had to delay the launch. Luckily for all of you prospective Halcyon employees, there is an end to the wait in sight. According to a blog post on the Outer Worlds website, the game will release on the Nintendo Switch on June 5th, 2020.

Now, there’s an important point to bring up here. The retail version of the Switch version of The Outer Worlds comes, of course, on a physical cartridge. It will also have a day-one patch of up to 6 GB. Said patch will “optimize gameplay, provide additional hi-res textures, and include other fixes to provide the employees of Halcyon with the best gameplay experience.” So, make sure that you plan ahead and make room for the whole thing.

Incidentally, you can, of course, also purchase the game digitally via Nintendo’s store. Both versions are going to cost you $59.99.
