According to GameIndustry.biz, PlayStation is going to be skipping over E3 yet again this year. Their reasoning is that they don’t “feel the vision of E3 2020 is the right venue” for what they’re planning for the near future. In other words, why would they wrestle with all the other big names if they can try and get all the attention for themselves in other, smaller venues and events?
PlayStation Confirms They Won’t Take Part in E3 2020
Yes indeed, PlayStation is going to be skipping E3 yet again this year. As they told GameIndustry.biz: “After thorough evaluation SIE has decided not to participate in E3 2020. We have great respect for the ESA as an organization, but we do not feel the vision of E3 2020 is the right venue for what we are focused on this year.” If you’re wondering what that means, we’ll get to that in a second, but I do have to sneak in my delight at major companies pulling out of E3 and the trailer parade it has become.
So, what will they be focusing on instead? Well, taking part in individual events instead: “We will build upon our global events strategy in 2020 by participating in hundreds of consumer events across the globe. Our focus is on making sure fans feel part of the PlayStation family and have access to play their favorite content. We have a fantastic line up of titles coming to PlayStation 4, and with the upcoming launch of PlayStation 5, we are truly looking forward to a year of celebration with our fans.”
So, there you have it. As I understand it, the strategy is to hang out at events where they’re more likely to be the top dog, rather than vie for attention in a huge melting pot like E3. And, considering that they really have a lot to show when it comes to future games as well as the long-awaited PlayStation 5, why would they risk it?The post PlayStation Confirms They Won’t Take Part in E3 2020 appeared first on GosuNoob.com Video Game News & Guides.
